We’re getting closer to one of SLE’s most exciting local events — Scottsdale Fashion Week! This year’s festivities feature an impressive lineup of designers from around the world who have created clothing for some of Hollywood’s biggest stars. Opening Night Designer, Zandra Rhodes, will come to Scottsdale all the way from her native England, while Featured Designer, George Styler, hails from Belgrade, Serbia. However, some of our designers grew up right here in Arizona. Meet #SFW17 Featured Designers Allie Teilz and Becki Coakley!

Allie Teilz

Designer and DJ Allie Teilz is an Arizona native who moved to LA to break into the entertainment industry as a DJ. To say she was successful would be an understatement. At only 22-years-old, Allie has performed for some of Hollywood’s most exclusive events, including official after parties of the Grammys, Golden Globes, Emmy Awards, Fashion Week and Vanity Fair. Now, Allie’s resume boasts an impressive roster of collaborations, as she has spun alongside many Hollywood mainstays, including Thom Yorke, Arcade Fire and M83. She’s also opened for Frank Ocean, Haim and Lorde.

Allie got her start working at a record store right here in Phoenix. She knew from an early age that she wanted to pursue a dual career in music and fashion. By the age of 15, she was booking her own gigs at popular local hangouts such as Rhythm Room and Crescent Ballroom. By the time she was 17, she was running production for Kanye West and Jay-Z’s combined tour.

After making it big in the music industry, Allie set her sights on expanding her career into fashion. Already known for her unique style, Allie launched her clothing line in late 2016. Her debut collection consists of affordable, luxury suits for women and men alike. When crafting her designs, Allie incorporated her love for edgy, envelope-pushing style, ultimately developing outfits that bend gender rolls and call back to the age of rock and roll glamour. Her new collection ranges in price from $250-$600. Allie has been actively pursuing her passion for her design since she was in high school.

Our hometown girl’s work has been featured in an impressive collection of world class publications including Vogue, Hollywood Reporter, WWD and Vanity Fair. You can see Allie’s work live on the runway as she works her magic behind the turntables at Scottsdale Fashion Week’s runway show Metal + Mirrors on March 4 at Livewire in Old Town Scottsdale. She will also deejay at the official Scottsdale Fashion Week After Party which will be hosted at the W Scottsdale immediately after the show. Tickets for both events are on sale now at sle.bz/SFW17.

Becki Coakley

Becki Coakley is a locally-based shoe designer who has been obsessed with fashion ever since she was four-years-old. Though originally from South Carolina, Becki now resides right here in Arizona. She will also showcase her latest collection in an innovative display at Scottsdale Fashion Week’s Metal + Mirrors Show on Saturday, March 4.

Growing up, Becki’s favorite pastime was walking down the streets and peering into the windows of luxury shops and boutiques. She has always been particularly infatuated with shoes. Becki turned her passion for stylish footwear into her dream career. She is now at the helm of Becki Coakly Ltd. Her designs combine two elements she has always looked for when picking out a pair of shoes — classic chic and timeless sophistication.

When crafting her brand, Becki set out to create shoes that embody elegance and class, while simultaneously celebrating a woman’s sensuality. You can take an intimate look at some of Becki’s latest styles when she presents her designs at Scottsdale Fashion Week.

Both Allie Teilz and Becki Coakley will showcase their latest collections on Saturday, March 4 at Livewire in Scottsdale. Doors open at 8 p.m. To purchase tickets, please visit sle.bz/SFW17.
