Laidback Luke at Māyā Day + Nightclub: January 13th, 2017

The yoga-loving veteran DJ/producer from Amsterdam first entered the music scene with alluring house and techno beats. Years later, Luke is now recognized for bringing more of an eclectic style to the decks. His career kicked-off in the early ‘90s, and his sound was launched to critical acclaim. He was voted #46 on DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs in 2008, climbing to #27 in 2009, and eventually #17 in 2010, showing his constant progression as a trendsetting tastemaker in the world of EDM. Probably one of the most interesting things to set him apart from his late-night life as a DJ is the healthy lifestyle he enjoys sharing with his fans. He has his own weekly vlog on Facebook (The Real World: DJ Edition) where his followers can get an up-close glimpse into his daily life of yoga, meditation and healthy eating. Don’t let the “Laidback” moniker fool you though, when Luke hits Scottsdale on January 13th, things will be anything but relaxed at Māyā Day + Nightclub. Purchase your tickets here.

Matoma at Māyā Day + Nightclub: January 27th, 2017

Norwegian transplant, Matoma, best known for his catchy hip hop/tropical house mashups and remixes, will return to Scottsdale on January 27th. Back in 2014, he was inspired by the work of legendary dance acts like Tiesto, Paul Van Dyk, and Armin Van Buuren. Matoma quickly began remixing and releasing his own productions, which are now defined by their uplifting overtones and melodically appealing vibes. 2015 brought about a breakout moment for Matoma behind his remix of The Notorious B.I.G.’s, “Old Thing Back,” which now boasts more than 130 million streams. That same year, he released his debut single and earned his first appearance on Billboard’s Hot Dance/Electronic chart.  This year has been big with the debut of his first full-length album, Hakuna Matoma. Tracks include, “Knives,” “Find Love,” “The Wave,” and “Try Me,” featuring major star power from the likes of Jennifer Lopez and Jason Derulo. Matoma’s tropically-influenced electronic compositions will be breezing through Māyā this month, don’t miss you — you can grab tickets here.
