Scottsdale is increasingly becoming one of the premier entertainment destinations in the country. Contending with prime entertainment hubs in California and Nevada, Scottsdale continues to distinguish itself with a healthy, well-rounded balance of culture, art, and leisure. Every month, the central Valley boasts some of the best food, fashion, music and recreation events in the southwest. From sports and family-friendly local attractions to bustling nightlife, Steve LeVine Entertainment & Public Relations takes an active role in helping produce and promote many of these events, and last month was teeming with highlights. With the sweltering summer months in the rear view mirror and cool autumn days ahead, we’re taking a look back at all the best moments from the busy month of October:
GRiZ at Marquee Theater:
GRiZ is unlike many other artists making headlines in the EDMisphere today. The Detroit-native puts on a dazzling live show, mixing in his incredible saxophone talent to his DJ routine. GRiZ is championing his own unique brand of dance music, meshing hip-hop, bass, disco, and soul inspirations into his productions and live show. GRiZ brought the funk to Marquee Theater in October as part of his ‘Good Will Prevail’ tour, behind his most recently released LP of the same name. Incorporating live guitar, plenty of irresistible sax riffs, and an overwhelmingly positive message, GRiZ made for a surefire highlight in October.
Light The Night Phoenix & Tucson:
Light The Night is an annual charity event we are proud to partner with each year. The event not only provides a wholesome family-friendly experience to participants, it stands for an amazing, altruistic cause, bringing people together to combat leukemia and lymphoma all across the country. Face painting, fireworks and fundraising all came together into one special event held in both Tucson and Phoenix last month, with local business represented and Arizona’s favorite sports mascots facilitating the fun. Hundreds of lanterns illuminated the sky in support of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in both Phoenix and Tucson, making for two special evenings benefiting a great cause.
Seven Lions at Marquee Theater:
Seven Lions is carving his own success out of the bass music niche. Jeff Montalvo’s Seven Lions project incorporates the booming bass component of dubstep with anthemic vocals and vibrant, melodic sound design. Seven Lions’ complex soundscapes blend floor-rattling low end appeal and uplifting lyrical accentuation, making him one of the most captivating artists in the electronic dance music space right now. Seven Lions graces the stage in both Tucson and Tempe last month, offering up a double dose of bass in Arizona that left a lasting impression.
W Scottsdale’s W’CKED Halloween 2016:
W Scottsdale’s W’CKED Halloween party stands at the intersection of spooky and stylish, making for one of Scottsdale’s most coveted Halloween events. Over the holiday weekend, the WET Pool Deck was transformed into the electric City of Oz, while the rest of the hotel morphed into a vibrant, fashion-forward rendition of the fabled Emerald City. Frighteningly fun and charmingly modern, W Scottsdale’s W’CKED definitely takes a top spot from last month.
Party Favor at Livewire:
This year, LA-based DJ/producer Party Favor has been making major waves in the space where EDM meets the mainstream. From scoring televised commercials to filling sports stadiums, Party Favor’s undeniably energetic sounds are everywhere in 2016, including Scottsdale’s Entertainment District. Performing on Halloween at Livewire in front of a spirited crowd of costumed fans, Party Favor delivered his bouncy blend of hip-hop inspired dance music in top form to make for one of the best events in Scottsdale in October.
