Audience engagement is at the core of any effective social media campaign. It’s vital that you make feel your audience feel like your organization values their thoughts and opinions, and is dedicated to serving their interests. You can accomplish this by gathering a clear understanding of your audience’s interests and then building high-quality, engaging content that aligns with them. Creating a call-to-action will immediately make your users feel like they are a part of your organization and serves as a starting point for an interactive conversation. Another key element to maintaining social media engagemnent, is interacting with your followers. If a follower asks a question, answer him or her as quickly as possible to ensure he or she knows that their inquiry is important to you. There is no quicker way to alleniate a follower than to ignore their question. Nurturing and facilitating conversations on your social platforms will go a long way in helping you satisfy and expand your audience.

2.      Use Hashtags Effectively

Hashtags can be tricky. It’s easy to overuse them and create a cluttered post that will be unappealing to your audience. However, when used properly, hashtags can be an effective tool to help you organically expand your social media reach. By strategically using hashtags, you have the potential to earn more impressions, views and overall engagements on your content. Research both popular hashtags and those that are specific to your industry. Furthermore, keep an eye on what’s trending so you have the opportunity to frame your posts in a way that aligns with a newsworthy hashtag or topic of conversation. All summed up: think strategically.

3.  Create Targeted Content

Having a clear understanding of your audience is vital to an effective social media campaign. It’s important to know your audience so that you can create content that is specifically designed to resonate with the desired demographic. For example, if you work for a technology company it’s reasonable to assume that your followers are interested in technology-related news and information. However, it is important to dig beneath the surface to gain a more complete understanding of the people you serve. Simply put, get specific. What are the demographics of your audience? Are they old? Young? What particular types of technology appeals to them? Once you answer these questions, you can create content that is specially designed to give your audience exactly what they want. This method will pave the way for an increase in engagement and followers alike.
