Pop Culture Updates
The People’s Choice Awards are tonight!
The 43rd People’s Choice Awards will honor the best in popular culture for 2016 live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California, and will be broadcast live on CBS. This year’s show will be hosted by comedian Joel McHale, who is probably best known for hosting the E! News program, “The Soup.”
The nominees were announced last November, and we’ve been anxiously awaiting the results ever since! The film “Captain America: Civil War” leads the pack on nominations with a total of seven. Beloved TV series Grey’s Anatomy and actor Kevin Hart each scored five nominations and Zootopia takes a close third place with four. Who are you most excited to see on the red carpet?
Amal and George Clooney
There’s so much more to lawyer and activist Amal Clooney than just her marriage to her Hollywood heartthrob husband. On Tuesday, she was honored at the World Economic Forum for her work battling the terrorist organization, ISIS, alongside her Nobel Peace Award-nominated client Nadia Murad. We can’t ignore Amal’s fabulous vintage getup. We love her classic Chanel ensemble, paired with Paul Andrew pumps.
Congratulations are in order for actress Katherine Heigl and singer/songwriter Josh Kelley!
Izzie Stevens has come a long way since her days in “Grey’s Anatomy.” The celebrity couple welcomed their third child, Joshua Bishop Kelley Jr. on Tuesday, Dec. 20. Though the couple already has two daughters, their newest addition to the family is their first biological child. Eight-year-old Naleigh was adopted by Katherine and Josh from South Korea in 2009, while 4-year-old Adelaide was adopted from right here in the U.S. in 2012. Congratulations to the happy family!
