Pop Culture Update

Celebrities Give Back

When it comes to entertainment news, most of the buzz is generated from juicy rumors and eyebrow-raising gossip. It’s refreshing when we can bring you a story that celebrates the ways celebrities use their wealth and influence to make the world a better place. A recent online campaign spearheaded by actor Ben Stiller, former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, Vine personality Jerome Jarre, YouTube stars Juanpa Zurita and Casey Neistat and trainer and activist Chakabars Clarke, has resulted in more than $2 million in donations for people suffering from famine in Somalia.

The stars used their social media platforms to ask for help bringing relief to those most affected. Their campaign caught the attention of Turkish Airlines, who ultimately agreed to send a cargo plane carrying 60 tons of food to Somalians in need. This initiative highlights the power of people from around the world coming together to offer a helping hand to those in need. We tip our hats to everyone who played even a small part in furthering this cause!

Jake Gyllenhaal + Ryan Reynolds Bromance

Two of Hollywood’s most beloved actors and hearthrobs, Jake Gyllenhaal and Ryan Reynolds, are currently promoting their new movie, Life, all the while giving the Internet a lot to laugh about in their press interviews. Check out this hilarious video in which the dynamic duo discusses everything from their make-up habits to pressing questions such as “is Ryan Reynolds related to Ryan Gossling,” and “what time of day was Jake Gyllenhaal born?” See the A-listers on the big screen in Life, playing in theaters everywhere.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are (Reportedly) Speaking Again

“Bradgelina” shocked the world when they announced their separation roughly two months ago. Since then, sources close to the former couple indicated that the two were refusing to speak to each other directly, instead, opting to communicate through lawyers and assistants. Now, sources close to the mother and father of six are suggesting that they are now on speaking terms and are moving closer toward resolving the terms of their impending divorce. Regardless of the speculation and rumors surrounding Hollywood’s (former) highest-profile couple, one thing everyone can agree on: their kids are their number one priority. We’re wishing the Jolie-Pitts the best of luck in their new lives.
